Well, tempered glass is produced in such a way that it goes through heating and cooling steps fairly quickly. What this does is strengthen the auto glass while changing the structural composition. What that means is when this auto glass breaks, it too doesnt turn into your normal shattered glass, but into little pebble like pieces. These little pieces are far less sharp the your normal piece of broken glass. So, when you’re in las vegas and you see all that shatterd auto glass on the pavement, you dont really have to be too worried about driving over it.
