Today I’d like to talk about windshield maintenance, and how to avoid windshield repair or windshield replacement. Most people don’t think about this, let alone do it, yet replacing your windshield can run you up to $300 or more! There are some simple things that can be done to keep your windshield clean, and in shape.
Some products that I recommend to keep your windshield sparkling are first good old fashion windex and some newspaper to wipe it off with. Don’t ask me why newspaper cleans windshields so well, it just does. Kinda like why is a sunset good, it just is. Now, if you already have a crack or chip in your windshield, I would recommend getting it repaired quickly. Certain cleaners leave certain smells, and on a hot day, which Las Vegas is no stranger to, with the sun beating down on it, your windshield can play a big factor in the overall smell of your car. And speaking of a hot day, my next tip for caring for your windshield dabbles with a little bit of science. Cool to cold water on hot glass equals trouble. If any of you have ever taken a glass straight out of the dishwasher that is still blazing hot, then try to pour somewhat cool water in it… Crack! Well, same goes for your windshield. And considering how hot it can get in Las Vegas, you may want to pay attention. So, next time you go to wash your car, do it in the early morning or later in the day.
