Living out east for a few years did teach me a trick or two about windshields, and more importantly what to do when when the weather turns south. Some things you dont see a whole lot when dealing with windshields in las vegas would of course be snow, but also ice. Ice on your windshield is nothing more than a major pain in the butt. Oh, and a little tip, for all those of you leaving las vegas for a winter vacation, pick up a windshield scraper. Nothing worse then trying to scrape off ice with a cd or tape case, and yes I know first hand

Its when it melts a little and then freezes is when it can become a nusance for your windshield, and driving too. The other thing you dont see a whole lot of in Las Vegas is of course all the sludge that comes from the snow melting. You’ll want to make sure and stock up on plenty of windshield washer fluid, as this could make things easier for you and potentially save your life.

That is not something your las vegas windshield should even have to worry about right? Well, if you cant find any below freezing windshield washer fluid before you head out of las vegas, be sure to pick some up once you hit a state that sees those kinds of temperatures. Trust me, you and you las vegas windshield will be glad you did. The other cool thing about windshield washer fluid is that some of them have special chemicals to help melt away the snow and ice, so you dont even need to scrape your windshield! Talk about an easy way to handle cleaning off your windshield of ice. And if your from las vegas, you’ll appreciate that you dont even have to get out of your car! Other then that, with the little bit of frost you might see on a rather unusual cold day in las vegas, windshield maintainence should be a rather easy thing for you this winter. Just remember to keep on top of windshield cracks, or windshield chips, and you windshield wont end up on shattering on you. Dont forget that rapid change in temperature on glass, including you windshield, even in las vegas can mean serious damage.
